What makes Which? deals different?
Retailers sometimes use misleading ‘was’ or ‘now’ prices to claim their deals are good. Media sites and artificial intelligence (AI) promote deals from retailers – but do they always check them first?
We don’t just take retailers’ word for it, we track actual market prices over six months. We share cheapest and average calculations and evaluate products against strict performance benchmarks. So you get good quality at honest prices.
References to ‘average price' and 'cheapest price' are based on Which? market knowledge and information supplied by our partners. Prices are checked for the six calendar months prior to publication. Not all retailers are included in our checks. We have highlighted John Lewis as the 'Featured' retailer where possible, however, offers may be cheaper at other retailers in the pricing tool.

How much is Amazon Prime?
Amazon Prime membership costs £8.99 per month, or £95 per year. If you pay annually, you save just over £12 per year.
Students and young adults aged 18 to 24 can get a six-month free trial, followed by a discounted membership costing £4.49 per month or £47.49 per year. Paying annually saves just over £6 compared with the monthly plan.
Prime membership includes benefits such as fast delivery on eligible orders, Prime Video and access to exclusive deals. However, you don't need to be a Prime member to shop Amazon's Black Friday sale, although some discounts may be reserved for subscribers.
Find out how to get Amazon Prime for free.
Get a free trial of Amazon Prime for Black Friday
If you're not already an Amazon Prime member, you might be eligible to sign up for 30 days of Amazon Prime for free. This gives you access to Prime benefits during Black Friday, including exclusive discounts and free delivery on eligible orders.
Just remember to cancel before your trial ends if you don't want to continue paying. Otherwise, you'll automatically be charged £8.99 per month (or £95 per year if you selected an annual subscription).
To cancel your membership before the trial expires, you'll need to visit the Amazon Prime membership page, choose Manage membership, then follow the options to end your membership.
How to return Amazon purchases
If you buy a product during Amazon's Black Friday sale and it arrives damaged or faulty, you're protected by consumer law.
Under the Consumer Rights Act, your purchase needs to be of satisfactory quality (not faulty or damaged), fit for purpose and as described. If your product doesn't meet one of these requirements, the retailer (not the manufacturer) is in breach of the Consumer Rights Act.
If you've simply changed your mind, Amazon allows you to return most products within 30 days of delivery, provided they're unused and undamaged. Some exclusions apply, so it's worth checking the returns policy before buying.
Amazon offers free returns on many products, but you may have to pay to send an unwanted item back if it isn't eligible. If your purchase is faulty, damaged or incorrect, the retailer should cover the return costs.
To start a return, visit Your Orders in your Amazon account, select the relevant purchase and follow the instructions.
For expert advice on returning goods you've bought online, see our in-depth guide to returns and refunds.
How to recycle your old tech
If you're looking to replace older technology during Amazon's Black Friday sale, it's worth thinking about what to do with the gadgets you no longer need.
You have a few options if you want to recycle your unwanted electronics. Some local councils offer kerbside collections for small electrical items, such as toasters and kettles. Alternatively, you can take them to a recycling centre or check whether a nearby retailer offers an electrical recycling service.
For more details on how to get rid of your unused gadgets, check our advice on how to recycle electrical items.
